{Our Vacation Adventures}

We've had a great time on our holiday vacation so far. The drive to D.C. took 10-hours, it was surprisingly not too terrible. We dropped the Deet at a doggie daycare and went to our hotel which was a great location, not so great a hotel - but it was a Priceline find, price was right and it did the job. Overall D.C. was not a hit with the kids, too much "shhhhh" we're in a museum. However, they LOVED the subway. We would wake early and take it during rush hour, they were the only ones laughing and giggling on the train.

We spent three days in D.C. and then drove up to New York. It was only supposed to be a 4 hour drive, but we hit two major traffic jams so it was more like 6 hours. It was wonderful to unpack all their toys and let them go crazy at Grandpa and Dolores' house. Deeter was happy to be back at his old stomping grounds.

Went into the city one day and saw the Intrepid and Aunt Michelle - picked up Nonna and brought her back with us. Thanksgiving was 32 people (36 including cats & dogs). Was really nice to see everyone, and not too crazy considering how many people were there. It even started snowing a little during the day.

We've gone to several of the playgrounds to keep the kids from going stir crazy. Yesterday we went into the Bronx, the intention was to go to the zoo but we decided to just walk around and then had dinner at Dominicks. It was as good as we remembered. Skylar was driving the guys crazy with how much pasta she ate.

Tomorrow we plan on going into the city and spending the night. From there we hope to hit all the hot spots. So far it's been a great vacation....going by way too fast. The Deet is going on a diet as soon as we get home, he's only eaten one bowl of his own food since we've been in NY - kitty food is in surplus around here and he's taking advantage.

See all pictures of our vacation.
