A week at Douthat

Our week long trip to Douthat, VA was amazing. We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin in the park, which was a good thing since rain storms came through daily. Somehow in all the pictures we took there is none to depict the hours (upon hours) of card games played...go-fish, war, trash, etc.

We knew it was a good sign to see a rainbow on our way out of Atlanta.

Our cabin.

Mike loving the trails.

The snake that greeted us on our first day of crawfish hunting.

The first crawfish of the vacation.

Train museum & Expo.

We went crawfish hunting every day, we hit the motherload the 2nd day. One day Wolf and I went twice - Skylar opted to go mountain biking with daddy.

Wolf assisting a fisherman with his catch.

The beach.

Making friends.

Couldn't catch a fish in a recently stocked lake, go figure.

Going on a hike.

The little ol'lady.

Spider egg sacks found on trail.

Paracord bracelet class, only took 2 hours...ugh!

The kids found a new game using jacks.

So beautiful, we walked the trail around the lake a couple times during our stay.

Dissecting owl pellets, apparently that class is not as sought after as paracord bracelet making.

Deeter did not have as nice a time as us at the kennel, his pads were torn up on one paw.

Quiet ride home.

Good thing we bought a couple extra owl pellets, first thing that was done after unpacking the van.
